QuickFeet Soccer to Petition with other sports organizations to build state of the art county facility

QuickFeet Soccer Training will work with local sports clubs and parents to lobby for better Sports Facilities in the county outside of Bowie, MD. Representatives of the organization believe that all of the better fields and facilities seem to be skewed towards the city of Bowie with the addition of a new complex to arrive on Rt. 301 in approximately 3 years. Now that Bowie has become an autarky-like government, the new fields will most likely prohibit residents outside of the Bowie area to use the facilities similar to Allen Pond Fields and Mitchellville Fields. So this leaves residents outside of Bowie to wonder, what about us and our children? An online petition will become available in 2 weeks as we have and will continue to urge Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission Director, Mr. Ronnie Gathers, County Executive Jack Johnson, and Prince George's County Council Members to build a state of the art sports facility in the county outside of Bowie.

Time Change for 3-8 year old Clinics for Summer I

Please not that there has been a slight time change in Summer I soccer clinics for children 3-8 years old participating in Mitchellville (June 22nd), Upper Marlboro (June 23rd), Laurel (June 24th), and Ft. Washington (June 25th). 3-5 year olds will practice from 6:45 pm - 7:35 pm, and 6-8 year olds will practice from 7:35 pm - 8:30 pm.

P.G. can look to Frisco,TX to see how a Quality Sports Facility can benefit kids and local economy
Sports programs in Prince George's County are in need of a "quality" complex to provide facilities for player development. Last month DC United was denied a proposal to develop a soccer specific stadium, along with an athletic complex filled with soccer and possibly even football fields. As an outsider looking in, it would was very difficult to picture how the soccer club could build the complex without much private funding. In fact, I initially opposed the building of the stadium last year because the county needed to re-look at its priorities. But after visiting Frisco, TX (25 minutes outside of Dallas) last month for the Dallas Cup, a youth international tournament in its 30th year, I came to the conclusion that the citizens missed out on a chance to have a quality sports complex built for its athletes.

QuickFeet Soccer League (QFSL) 2009 will begin on April 21, 2009 in Mitchellville, MD for players in Northern and Central Prince George's County, and on April 22, 2009 for players in the Southern Prince George's County area.
