One of the best soccer trainers in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, Myron Garnes, Technical Director of Calvert Soccer Association, and arguably one of the best trainers in the entire country once said, “Anyone can play soccer, but not anyone can be player.” When he told me this, I had a difficult time understanding exactly what he meant, but since his remark two weeks ago, I have had the chance to sit down and think out exactly what he meant, and I was able to draw the conclusion that a “Player” is one who has fulfilled “The Journey”.
