The QuickFeet Soccer League program will conclude this Saturday, June 6th at Kingsford Elementary School (14001 Enterprise Rd, Mitchellville, MD 20721).

Sports programs in Prince George's County are in need of a "quality" complex to provide facilities for player development. Last month DC United was denied a proposal to develop a soccer specific stadium, along with an athletic complex filled with soccer and possibly even football fields. As an outsider looking in, it would was very difficult to picture how the soccer club could build the complex without much private funding. In fact, I initially opposed the building of the stadium last year because the county needed to re-look at its priorities. But after visiting Frisco, TX (25 minutes outside of Dallas) last month for the Dallas Cup, a youth international tournament in its 30th year, I came to the conclusion that the citizens missed out on a chance to have a quality sports complex built for its athletes.
