Since soccer landed in the United States over 50 years ago, its focus has been on providing children a place "just to play". The culture and atmosphere of "just playing" is understandable because we want children to develop a passion for the sport. But, out of the culture of "just playing", the United States in its coaching and player development has lost the importance of training. There are thousands of recreational programs all over the country ran by non-soccer people (those who have never played the sport before, and are only in it for business/political/ego reasons) who focus on the quantity of players, rather than the quality of coaching/training.

Tryouts will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 to form one U-8/U-9 Boys team, and one U-8/U-9 Girls team at Kingsford Elementary School (1401 Enterprise Rd, Mitchellville, MD 20721). Boys tryouts will be held from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm and Girls tryouts will be held 7:35 - 8:35 pm. To view a tryout packet
